SEDA is using microfinance and business development to empower small
communities and individuals, enabling them to generate income, utilize their
natural resources in an environmentally sound manner and create lasting
financial independence.
Starting with green energy
agricultural development and the Jatropha Curas plantation in Vientiane
Province, SEDA will soon expand its program to assist other low-income
villagers develop small businesses, including crop production and textile
weaving cooperatives. SEDA will work directly with each business, educating
participants on market access, managing finances and responsible use of
natural resources to ensure they have the best chance of achieving long-term
financial stability.
